Summer holidays are for fun and learning’s. But imagine for a moment if this learning could be made while having fun; your child can easily grasp it. So let’s have some fun while making him learn the tricks of Tie –Dye
Here are some Do’s and Don’t
- Make your kid wear old shoes and apron over some old clothes. Cover the work surface with a plastic sheet. Buy fabric dye from a craft shop.

- You can set the water on to boil in a container. In the meantime, have the kid tie T-shirt (100% cotton) in patterns of their choice, using larger rubber bands. If you are using only one container, go from the lightest colour to darker ones.
- Add a cup of salt to the dye bath to enhance the colour. Immerse the T-shirt in hot water first, wring out the excess water, and then soak it in the dye bath, stirring frequently. For Two or more colours, dip and hold each section in dye.
- Remove T-shirt with a pair of tongs or big stick. Rinse under cool water, until the excess colour is washed away and the water runs clear.(when you throw the shirt in the laundry for the first time, wash it alone in cool water, then drip –dry in the shade to save it from fading.

Designs

Diagonal Stripe
Lay the T-shirt flat and fold it, according style, from the bottom corner. Once it’s folded, wrap it with rubber bands every 1 to 2 inches.
